In my view, knowing your value and self-worth are inextricably linked. Self-worth is defined as the sense of one’s own value or worth as a person and value is the regard that something is held to deserve; the importance, worth, or usefulness of something.
I was with a friend some days back and I asked her if she knew her self-worth? She said she is not sure anymore because of the lemons life has thrown at her and she forgets she can make a lemonade out of it.
On that note, I’ll like to remind us about our self-worth in this short article.
Self-Worth Value #1: You have positive self-esteem.
You believe in and like yourself, you’re comfortable with your being- your weight, height, and everything that makes and represents you. You like and have a great relationship with people which helps boost your self-esteem.
Self-Worth Value #2: You recognize the difference you make.
When you know your value, you will confidently approach a negotiation with full belief in your knowledge, skills, and experience and the difference you can make.
Self-Worth Value #3: You are clear about your values.
You know your boundaries, you know what you want, you are clear about what acceptable behavior is and how you like to be treated and spoken to without needing external validation.
