Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. – Helen Keller

Debby asked Gbemi her roommate how she gets to be calm in situations that will warrant anxiety. Gbemi laughed at this and told her she plans ahead and she is always optimistic so she can slightly predict what the future will hold and keeps positive. That way, she is not always surprised with what happens next.

The thing is that it is always better to plan ahead and be optimistic. That way you create a path, a ray of hope for yourself and this energy can lead to achievement according to Helen Keller. I also believe it is always better to be optimistic because when there is a source of light and energy you can draw from, you tend to want to do and achieve more.

The antonym of optimism is pessimism and this is when you see the worst happening in a given situation which makes your disposition dark and gloomy. Both pessimism and optimism are contagious but it is always better to choose the light, nothing can be done without hope and confidence.
